Enhanced Debit Card Security Controls
Great news! First Westroads Bank has introduced two new safety features for your debit card: Travel Indicators and Scheduled Blocks of card activity. These features are now available through the Bank’s online banking system, giving you more control over your card security.
The New Controls
Scheduled Card Blocks: If your card is lost or stolen, you can block it immediately to prevent unauthorized use. Scheduled Blocks allow you to temporarily block your card during specific times, giving you a chance to locate it safely. If the card is permanently lost or stolen, contact a banker to request a replacement.
Travel Indicators: Planning a trip? You can now set Travel Indicators online to notify the bank of your travel plans. This helps ensure your transactions are recognized as legitimate, reducing the chance of disruptions while you're away. Note: Travel Indicators apply only to debit cards and may take up to one business day to activate. Placing a Travel Indicator does not guarantee transaction acceptance.
24/7 Card Management: These tools are available 24/7, 365 days a year. Whether it’s the weekend or a holiday, you can manage your card security anytime. You can still contact the bank for assistance, but these features offer immediate protection and convenience.
How to Use These Features
To apply a Scheduled Card Block or set a Travel Indicator, log into your online banking account and navigate to your card’s details. Follow the prompts to select your preferences and click the blue Submit button to save your changes.
